W. House Santiago de Chile

This unique house combines contemporary design with functionality and a bold aesthetic.

W House, designed in collaboration with the Andrés Nuñez architecture studio in Santiago, Chile, is a minimalist concrete home that stands out for its cantilevers and its distinctive W-shaped form.

The concrete structure of the W House creates a solid and robust appearance, while the strategically placed cantilevers add an element of lightness and dynamism to the design. These cantilevers not only provide shade and protection from the elements but also create covered outdoor spaces that blend harmoniously with the interiors.

The minimalist design of the W House is based on clean lines and a neutral colour palette. The interior spaces are spacious and bright, with an open-plan layout that encourages fluidity and connection between the different areas. The materials used, such as exposed concrete, glass, and steel, combine to create a modern and sophisticated atmosphere.

The W-shape of the house adds an element of uniqueness and originality to the design. Beyond being aesthetically striking, this form also serves a functional purpose, as it maximises views and the influx of natural light from multiple angles. Each wing of the “W” can accommodate different functions—such as living areas, bedrooms, the kitchen, and the dining room—offering flexibility and versatility in the layout.

The W House also incorporates sustainable elements into its design, such as the use of renewable energy systems and the integration of passive energy efficiency strategies.
