The project begins with a classic-style home featuring an exposed-brick façade that required a major transformation. The family—with children of various ages—was looking for a more modern, functional home capable of supporting their daily lives and adapting to their future needs.
The Black House Studio’s intervention reimagines the home’s massing, layout, and relationship with the outdoors. The expansion maximizes the buildable area allowed by regulations to increase usable space and create new shared areas, living and play zones, and versatile rooms.
Every decision stems from the same priority: organizing the home around the people who live in it, with spaces that combine comfort, privacy, and shared living.
The façade represents one of the project’s most visible changes. Dark tones replace the home’s traditional look, defining a contemporary architectural style that reflects The Black House Studio’s signature aesthetic.
Natural light plays a central role in this transformation. Large windows—particularly in the living room and the master suite—open the spaces up to the pool and garden, reinforcing the visual connection between the indoors and outdoors.
For the interiors, the family has opted for a warm aesthetic with a distinctive character. Materials, lighting, fabrics, and finishes create a sense of balance and comfort, shaping elegant spaces designed for everyday enjoyment.
The owners’ personalities are reflected in the home’s most distinctive spaces. The wine cellar creates a unique atmosphere within the residence, while the golf simulator brings one of the owner’s great passions indoors.
These spaces embody a particular approach to design: every room must make sense for the person using it. Functionality drives the project, complemented by aesthetics, creating a home that accommodates both daily routines and moments of leisure and social interaction.
The result is a completely reimagined home—open to the garden and designed to evolve with the family. It is a house where luxury is expressed through the comfort of arriving, feeling at ease, and finding a space truly designed for living.
